Flying Club News 7th May

By the small BUT select gathering at Pilots in the pub last night, the rest of you must have been waiting in those queues at the polling stations, well you missed a lively evening where we did everything to get the subject away from politics, a member who will remain nameless, did her very best to a debate going but crashed and burned, spectacularly on several occasions but a valiant effort non the less.
On the subject of the pub, Caroline the landlady has asked for your help
Hi ,
Please help

Can you vote for us at this web site the winner gets a press release and lots of publicity.

Can you also get every one you know to vote as well, my email said friends and family can vote so we need as much support as possible.  Winning this could make all the difference.

Many thanks

Caroline

Access Road Gang
As one of the commonest negative comments about the club, being the state of the access road, the underwhelming response for volunteers to make it better has been staggering poor, with 4 volunteers out of a membership of over 130!
Come on people the club does not have unlimited resources, if you want a better access road then you need to help.
It could take place on a Saturday or Sunday, which ever gets the most volunteers. If you could let me know which of the next weekends you would be available then we can plan for the concrete.
weekends of the 15/16 22/23 May please specify which day and date please in your e-mail info@enstoneflyingclub.co.uk

House Keeping
The club house bar is open everyday, but is not self service. We will loose our licence if you or your guests help themselves. Please ask a member of the EFC duty staff to serve you.....we will even wash your glasses after.
With the unmentionable stuff becoming more favorable, you hope that you will bring your family and friends up to the club. Like your aircraft passengers get a safety briefing!!!!!! your ground crew must get a similar briefing. The rules are very simple for ground support crews " stay on the lawns, stay off and NEVER cross the taxiways"

Land away or approach fees
we have been getting an increasing number of invoices for landing and approach fees for the club aircraft. These fees must be settled by the PIC, either upon landing or in advance by card for approach fees. Any unauthorized fees that are invoiced to the club will incur a £25.00 admin fee!

IT and social media
we are doing our best to give opportunities for you to get more from the club, to this end we will soon have an EFC members forum section on the web site, plus an EFC face book page, twitter, Skype and linkedin. You will find the links at the bottom of each page on the web site.

Flying Club News 30th April

April slips gently away and we burst into May with a bank (extra flying day) holiday, by next weekend we shall have made up our minds who is going to sort out the mess our great country has got into, then it will be back to normal....hurrah. It has been great to see the shiny orb back this last week, its a shame more of you were unable to make use of the fabulous weather on Monday a Tuesday, perhaps the Westminster mob could move the weekends around to match the good weather, now that would get my vote! The best thing about the shiny orb is that it brings out the old members and gets new ones to sign up. Hurrah. More good news it that Piper have finally let us know about the parts for BTUW and they are now on order and should arrive........who knows!

Pilots In the Pub/election day special get you vote in early then come along and drown your sorrows with the only gang who tell tall tales and heroic stories of daring do and don't want to be elected!. 7.30 at the Crown Inn, Church Enstone, for supper and drinks. If you have not been before give me a call and we will make sure you receive the traditional PITP welcome... the drinks are on her/him Hurrah

Access Road Gang it would appear that there was some confusion of what we need for this work to succeed. It could take place on a Saturday or Sunday, which ever gets the most volunteers. If you could let me know which of the next weekends you would be available then we can plan for the concrete. weekends of the 10/11 17/18 May please specify which day and date please in your e-mail info@enstoneflyingclub.co.uk
